Whatever you do, don’t look down.

The world’s highest and longest glass-bottomed bridge opened to visitors in central China on Saturday, connecting two mountain cliffs in Hunan province.

The suspension bridge, which spans a quarter-mile across the Zhangjiajie Canyon and hangs 984 feet above the ground, is paved with 99 panes of three-layered glass. A maximum of 8,000 visitors will be allowed to cross the bridge each day.

Park officials let the public try to bash in the glass with sledgehammers, and even drove a car filled with passengers across it earlier this year.
