A California family blames FedEx for their Yorkie’s death, saying a driver flung a package over the fence that crushed the beloved pooch, according to a report.

Mitchell Galin and Keiko Napier said their dog Cooper was in the backyard of their Venice home when the FedEx driver tossed the package that landed on top of her, news station KCAL reported.

“I immediately picked up the box, and Cooper was in a puddle of blood,” Galin told the outlet.

The couple brought the 4-pound dog to the veterinarian’s office, where it was determined she suffered injuries to her lungs and liver, KCAL reported.

Due to the seriousness of the injuries, they decided to have their beloved pooch euthanized, according to the outlet.

“It was painful to watch your dog in pain,” Galin said.

FedEx apologized to the Cooper’s owners, but they want to see the company create policies that prevent similar incidents, the outlet reported.

“I feel they need to say they’re going to institute a corporate-wide mandate that drivers cannot throw packages. That’s what I want to hear,” Napier said.

The delivery company issued a statement in response to the dog’s death that promised to investigate the incident.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of the pet involved in this incident,” the statement said. “We take this matter very seriously and are working directly with those involved to determine the circumstances behind this event. Based on the outcome of our investigation, we will take the appropriate action.”
