Country crooner Zach Bryan addressed his arrest Friday morning, admitting that he behaved like an “actual child” by mouthing off to a police officer who pulled his security guard over.

The 27-year-old “Heading South” hitmaker — who was busted on an obstruction of investigation charge — acknowledged that he acted like an “idiot” during a traffic stop in Vinita, Oklahoma, while driving to Boston.

“I’ve got seven Red Bulls in me, and I just wanted to be completely transparent with everyone who listens to my music about what happened with me getting arrested and everything,” he told his 2.8 million Instagram followers.

“I want to start by saying I had to deal with the legalities of it, I did go to jail, they didn’t play favorites, and I was an idiot today. My decisions did not reflect who I was as a person — I just want to make that clear. I should’ve been smarter about it.”

Bryan explained that he had decided to drive to Boston, with his security guard following closely behind him, when the employee was pulled over.

“We’re like 40 minutes away, he’s behind me and I see him getting pulled over,” he said about the traffic stop in Vinita. “I go around the block and I pull back around. And I’m just sitting there, I didn’t get out of the vehicle or anything.”

After 10 minutes, Bryan said he got out of his car to check what had happened.

He said the cop warned him that he would be taken to jail if he didn’t return to his vehicle.

“And like a dumbass, I was like, ‘Take me to f–king jail? What do you mean?’ So I get too lippy with him, he brings me over to his car, and I just didn’t help my situation at all,” he shared. “I felt like a child, it was ridiculous and immature. I just pray everyone knows I don’t think I’m above the law. I was just being disrespectful and I shouldn’t have been. It was my mistake.”

After admitting to getting “more and more angry” in the cop car, Bryan said he began “mouthing off, like an idiot.”

“Like an actual child,” he said, adding that he “was upset.”

“I was in jail for a few hours,” he said. “When I got there I kind of lightened up because I cooled off. Everyone was super kind. I was in my jail cell for a while.”

Bryan also addressed another police encounter the previous day when he was pulled over by a cop while driving through a small town in Oklahoma.

“First thing he asks for is license and registration and my address,” Bryan said. “And I told him, ‘Hey man I don’t really feel comfortable giving you my address. I’m a musician and I’m not comfortable with it.'”

“He said if I didn’t give him my address he would take me to jail,” he continued. “And I’m like, ‘Man, I’m not giving you my address.’ So he tells me to step out of the vehicle, he puts handcuffs on me, and I’m like, ‘Man what the hell is going on? Why are you doing this?'”

Bryan said the cop let him off with a warning once he “started respecting him” instead of talking back.

The singer acknowledged that he “was an idiot” and said his “actions did not reflect who I am as a person.”

“I’m a grown man and I shouldn’t have behaved like that and it won’t happen again,” he said.
